If you have Custom Plush questions, we have answers

We want to help you with every stage of your custom creation. Below are some frequently asked questions about the custom plush toy manufacturing process. However we’d be happy to answer any other questions you may have. If you don’t see the answer here, please contact us for more information.

Can I get a sample to show around to buyers?
Yes. A sample of your custom plush is included in the Startup Package (see Startup Package for details). Once all the details of your idea are conveyed we will design and manufacture a one of a kind prototype that you can show buyers.
How do I protect my idea?
The first step to protecting your idea, is ensuring that the manufacturer you work with signs a NDA ( Non Disclosure Agreement ) This means that we cannot reproduce your product without your permission. We have built our company over the last 25 years on the fact that we only manufacture goods for you. We have no interest in stealing ideas, and we insist that it is in writing. contact us for an NDA.
How much does my idea cost to produce?
Keep in mind that in developing your unique product, there are many choices that can affect the final price. Therefore it is helpful if you have a budget in mind that we can use as a starting point. There are a few distinct factors that influence the price. These are:

Quantity – In general, the more you order the less you pay per piece. This has to do with not only materials, but also the labor involved to manufacture your custom plush toy.

Size – Common sizes that we use now are 6” for beanie type toys, 8″-12″ for smaller stuffed toys, and 12″ and above for everything else. A bigger toy does not just mean more material. The greater size, adds to labor and shipping costs as well. Quality – we can choose from many different qualities of plush and materials, all ranging greatly in price.

Detail – similar to the differences in quality but from a manufacturing point of view. A good example of two varying levels of detail in a toy are:

• a bean bag plush bear that is simple in shape and look.
• a realistic looking Grizzly Bear stuffed toy with features that are characteristic of the animal.

Where do you manufacture my toys?
All the toys we make are designed in the US with the production run made in China.
Do you have the capacity to keep up with my demand?
Yes we can keep up with your production needs. We have never had a customers needs exceed our manufacturing capabilities. We have long standing relationships with several factories that can produce more than 100,000 pieces per week.
Where do I send my ideas?
Once you submit a Quote Request, a special Client Area link will be provided to download documents and upload your images.
What is your minimum order?
Our minimum order for custom plush products is only 1,000 pieces. While it is definitely more economical to order 5,000 pieces or more, we understand that for a new product sometimes it is best to start with the minimum. For products like figurines the minimum quantity is 5,000.
Is your first price quote the final price?
Our first price quote is an estimate based on the limited information that you provided on your initial quote form. Although we have spent many years working in the plush industry and can usually get close with our first quote, every project is slightly different. Therefore the final price may be higher or lower then the original quote. However your price will be final before we start production and there will not be any surprise charges to worry about.
How long does it take to get my product?
Approximately 60-75 days after the prototype is approved. Usually the biggest factor in completing a project is how well information and details are communicated between us. The typical steps and duration are:
• Prototype Stage – approximately 30 days (times may vary)
• Production Stage/Overseas Shipping – within 60-75 days approximately
• Delivery ( local shipping ) – 5 to 10 days
How much is shipping?
Your quote includes sea shipping freight to California or New York. There will be additional ground trucking transportation costs from either of these points to your final destination. We can provide an estimate for the ground transportation along with your quote and even manage this part of the project for you as well.
Will my toys be safe?
Yes. We have been designing and manufacturing toys for over 25 years. All of our toys meet or exceed all required ASTM standards. We pride ourselves on our 100% safety record, high level of customer service and our exceptional quality. We are always on top of the many changes to toy safety that are enacted by US and international governments.
Can I have my company name or logo on my custom plush?
Yes. We can personalize your custom plush in a variety of different ways, including silk screening on a t-shirt or other apparel item or a direct embroidery on the plush toy itself. We can also provide your own hang tags, and personalizing your sewn in labels. All of these details will be discussed during the prototype stage.
Do you make anything else besides plush toys?
Yes. We make hundreds of different items including PVC toys, action figures, key chains, puzzles, golf head covers, bobble heads and more. Contact us for more details.
What about copyright and licensing issues?
When you place an order with us, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to order, purchase, and distribute our products with the names, trademarks, copyrights, logos, etc., specified on your order. If you have an idea that you would like to keep under wraps, we are comfortable signing standard Non Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), and we can also provide a standard NDA if you need one.
What if I have special packing needs?
No problem! We can pack your animals in simple poly bags which are great for mail order and catalog sales or we can design a full color display box for retail store shelves.
